Background
I began playing drums at the age of 7; I learned snare drum and theory first, then jazz / stage band and tympani (regional orchestra). I started playing professionally at 15, in local rock and jazz bands; I appear on several CDs. In 1991, I branched out into tabla, doumbek and conga. I currently study under tabla maestro K. Paramjyoti.
I teach with a combination of method, music reading and improvisation, and stress the use of a metronome.
